Cycle Instead in Spring Bike to Work Challenge 2008 - Final Results
In 2008 there were
1783 registered participants in the Cycle Instead in Spring Bike to Work Challenge. There were
250 teams from
97 companies. Riders cycled to work in Kunnunurra, Esperance, Geraldton, the Pilbara, Bunbury, Collie, Narrogin, Lake Grace, Wagerup, Merredin, Mandurah and all around Perth.
Some Approximated Facts & Figures.
In six weeks we’ve travelled
505,194km. Thats over
12 times around the world.
This converts to a saving of around
139,400kg of CO2 emissions in the environment.
We’ve saved of around
$90,900 in fuel costs.
Around
60,000,000 kilojoules in energy have been burned during your rides. This equates to approximately
50,000 Mars bars.
Plus our hearts and lungs are much healthier. Well done everyone.
